I will make the wilderness a pool of water

  Adapted from Lectio 365 by Hannah Heather

'I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.' Isaiah 41:18

'Every tree, spring, and pool in the wilderness is a testimony. A signpost that everyone may see and know the miraculous God of wilderness water.

Every time I encounter living water in the wilderness, it is a testimony. The landscape of my life becomes a signpost that others may see and know the miraculous God of wilderness water.' by Hannah Heather from Lectio 365

The beauty of new creation, as we see signs of spring, is like a pool of water in the wilderness of what is happening in the world at the moment.

We are part of God's creation, and simply by being ourselves, we are part of God's creation jigsaw, witnessing to His presence.

Just as we are experiencing the resurrection reminder of God's creation coming to life, with the glorious arrival of spring and blue skies in Luxembourg where I live, the wider world seems to be disintegrating. Apart from prayer and charitable giving, it's easy to feel helpless with the news of natural disaster, aid being misused or blocked, war, war mongering and insane economic tariff wars, which can only be borne of misplaced ideals, stupidity and ignorance.

I realise on my own personal journey, coming out of depression, meditating on Lectio 365, and working on this blog, that all we can do is be true to ourselves in the jigsaw of life, trusting that God will keep his promises.

  All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,

  1. Thank you Ann, I love the photos of the wood anemones, which I didn't know are a feature Luxembourg spring (until this week)! I like the image of the water in the wilderness - God is like the water that we rush to, in a dry and dusty land.
